 +===== Resources =====

 +The Radar group covers a very wide range of research. A couple of key books that may help when introducing yourself to the subject area are listed below:
 +
 +  * ‘Introduction to Airborne Radar’, George Stimpson - Very good basic introduce to many aspects of radar research. Plenty of diagrams and visual representations of concepts.
 +  * ‘Introduction to Radar Systems’, Merrill Skolnik - Comprehensive introduction to radar also, less diagrammatic.
 +  * ‘Radar Handbook’, Third Edition, Merrill Skolnik - This book is good for references to certain definitions or equations.
 +  * ‘Principles of Modern Radar: Basic Principles’, Mark A. Richards (Editor), James A. Scheer (Editor), William A. Holm - More recent textbook which is becoming the new standard introductory resource.
 +
 +**UCL Library**: The science library is located very close to the EE building, just turn left out of the doors of Roberts building and walk 100m and it is on your left.
 +
 +**IET Library**: This has more Radar specific books available and if you are a member of the IET you can borrow them from here. It is located at IET Library/Archives, Savoy Place, London, WC2R 0BL. You can even request IET library to post books to you too.
 +
 +**Online resources**:
 +IEEE Xplore: This is a database of paper from journals, conferences, etc.
 +
 +Access to this resource can be gained directly by going to http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore OR if you are off the UCL campus it is possible to access it through the UCL library website.
 +
 +To access while off campus go to this link:
 +1. http://www.ucl.ac.uk/Library/database/index.shtml
 +2. click on ‘I’ from the alphabet
 +3. Select IEEE Xplore from the list of databases
 +4. Then login using your UCL username and password
 +
 +**Key Journals**
 +There are a few key journals that cover the areas of research that the SSCG works within.
 +  * IET, Radar Sonar and Navigation. - http://www.ietdl.org/IET-RSN
 +  * IEEE, Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine - http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/RecentIssue.jsp?punumber=62
 +
 +===== Courses =====
 +There are a number of possible taught courses that can help your personal and professional development while studying / working within the Radar group. Please see [[Courses | Taught Courses]] for further details
 +
 +===== PCB development =====
 +The department has PCB fabrication and assembly capability [[https://wwws.ee.ucl.ac.uk/dept/teachlab/pcb]] (in the 6th floor workshop) for rapid prototyping of hardware. We also use external board houses to help us develop PCBs with more demanding specifications.
